Working out and giving back all in one? It’s the perfect win-win. Giving back through fitness may seem challenging, but there are so many ways you can help others while also boosting your health! Check out these apps and organizations that make it extremely easy to give back through fitness!

Be a Running Buddy

If you are a fan of running races, then consider becoming a running buddy for a disabled runner! There are many organizations, such as Achilles International, that recruit runners to guide fellow athletes who have a disabling condition. Not only does this allow you to improve your physical fitness, but you can also help a friend achieve their goal.

Workout with Pets

Many animal organizations, such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), ask for volunteers to work out with pets! For example, ASPCA volunteers in New York City exercise with shelter dogs to help boost their socialization and basic training. If you love pets and fitness, this opportunity is the perfect match for you!

Download Charity Miles

If you track your walks, runs, hikes, or bike rides on a GPS app or watch, then you will love Charity Miles! Charity Miles is an app that allows you to “donate” your miles to the charity of your choosing. All you need to do is download the free app to your phone or watch, create an account, choose your charity, and start moving!  Every mile you move accumulates as money that can be donated to your favorite charity.

Workout More with Workout Mission

Similar to Charity Miles, Workout Mission allows you to donate money to charities after you complete workouts! Workout Mission is perfect for anyone trying to exercise more regularly because, on the app, you set a minimum weekly workout goal. When you work out, whether that’s going on a run or attending a class at CHAMPS BOXING™️, you log it on your calendar. After you complete ten workouts, you can donate $10 to your charity mission.

Donate Your Old Shoes

Another great way to give back through fitness is by donating your old workout shoes to Runner’s World. Runner’s World is continuously collecting old shoes that can be donated to those in need or can be recycled into playground surface material. If you have your eye on a new pair of sneakers or your old pair just can’t support you anymore, consider donating your shoes to Runner’s World!
Giving back through fitness is easier than you thought! From mile tracking apps to shoe donation charities, there are so many ways to give back while you workout.
